The “WORK”
Every relationship with a client is different, and I don't come to sessions with a fixed script. What stays consistent is the lens: we're always asking what pattern is present, what it's made of, and what it might be asking of you.
Modalities I draw from:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) & parts work
Somatic theory
Relational psychology
Self-compassion practice
Transpersonal psychology
Traditional talk therapy
Evolutionary Astrology
Tarot & Cards of Truth
Tropical Vedic Astrology (currently in training)
What a session might include — depending entirely on what's present for you that day:
Traditional talk therapy, discussing what's emerging in real time
Parts work, giving voice to the different aspects of yourself in conflict
Somatic check-ins, tracking what your body knows before your mind catches up
Chart work, using your birth chart as a map rather than a prediction
Tarot or Cards of Truth, as a way of externalizing what's hard to say directly
None of the symbolic tools are mandatory. Some clients never touch them. Others build their whole practice around them. We follow your curiosity, not a formula.

Meet Megan
Megan Ashley Woods
Owner, Registered Psychotherapist
A kaleidoscope of colours is how Megan would like to be remembered. Trained and educated in the fashion industry as a textile artist, she now enjoys serving others in a more intimate way — through astrological and psychological counselling. Megan loves to swim in the archetypal depths, where symbolic language continues to draw her in and she happily falls down metaphorical wormholes. The eternal student, she shares knowledge from her studies in Evolutionary Astrology, Tarot, Cards of Truth, and depth psychology — with an ongoing deepening into Tropical Vedic Astrology — all in service of helping souls connect to the poetry and magick of their lives.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I'm a registered psychotherapist, held to the same clinical and ethical standards as any other psychotherapist you'd see. Astrology, tarot, and other symbolic tools are part of how I work — never a replacement for the clinical relationship, and never assumed without your interest.
-
No. What I ask for is curiosity, not belief. Plenty of clients arrive skeptical and find the symbolic language useful anyway, the way metaphor is useful — as a way of naming something true, whether or not you have a fixed belief about why it's true. If you'd rather we leave the symbolic tools out entirely, that's completely fine too.
-
That's a very common starting point here. Many clients come in through the symbolic doorway — curious about their chart, or a specific reading — and find that it opens naturally into deeper clinical work, at whatever pace feels right. There's no requirement to "commit to therapy" before we begin; we just begin where you are.
-
Sessions are typically 60 minutes and begin with whatever is weighing on your heart or mind that day. I don't run a standard intake process — I'll ask for your personal history as it becomes relevant, rather than front-loading it all in session one. Some clients like to start with a run-through of their birth chart; others would rather just start talking. Either way is a completely fine place to begin.
-
There's no fixed timeline. Some clients work with me briefly around a specific transition; others stay in ongoing work for years. We'll talk honestly, early on, about what you're looking for and revisit it as we go.
-
Most extended health insurance plans in Ontario include coverage for registered psychotherapy, though every policy is different — I'd recommend double-checking directly with your provider to confirm your specific coverage and any session limits before we begin. Please note that I don't offer direct billing at this time, so you'll pay for sessions upfront and submit the receipt to your insurer for reimbursement yourself.

A reading is generally a single session focused on interpretation. What I offer is an ongoing therapeutic relationship. I am clinically trained, regulated, and set up to foster long-term support in which astrology and tarot are sometimes part of the material, not the whole of it.
